Morning visit to the magnificent Potala Palace, the symbol of Tibet. Explore its 1,000 rooms, chapels, and the stunning gold-roofed Red Palace. Afternoon at Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street, the spiritual heart of Lhasa where pilgrims prostrate around the temple.

Morning at Drepung Monastery, once the largest monastery in the world. Afternoon at Sera Monastery to witness the famous monk debating ceremony — an electrifying display of Buddhist philosophical discourse.

Depart Lhasa, cross Kambala Pass (4,990m) for spectacular views of Yamdrok Lake. Continue via Karola Glacier (5,045m) to Gyantse. Visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery and the iconic Kumbum Stupa — a 35m-high chorten with 108 chapels and 10,000 murals.

Morning drive to Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city. Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, founded in 1447. Explore its grand assembly hall and the world's largest gilded bronze statue of the Future Buddha (26m tall).

The most exciting day! Drive across the high plateau through Gyatso La Pass (5,248m) with first views of the Himalayan range. Continue through Tingri to Everest Base Camp. Arrive in time for sunset — watch the golden light paint Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Visit Rongbuk Monastery, the world's highest monastery.

Wake up early for the unforgettable Everest sunrise. After breakfast, begin the return journey to Shigatse, stopping at viewpoints along the way.

Drive back to Lhasa along the Yarlung Tsangpo River valley. Afternoon free for last-minute shopping or rest. Evening farewell dinner.
